We trust that you are all keeping well and safe and during the lockdown .
We hope that all swimmers, parents and guardians have now settled into their new routine of home schooling, remote working, dreaming of catch ups with their family and friends as well as getting back into the swimming pool!.
Since our last swimming session on 14th March 2020, it’s hard to believe that we are now in the month of May and there has been no swimming in our lives.
Normally this would be a busy time of year for the club with the Aquasprint galas and preparation for the Club’s own Annual gala.
The Committee had a virtual meeting on Wednesday 6 May, where they discussed amongst other things, staying connected with swimmers, coaches parents and guardians.
As a result of this meeting and to stay connected and spread positivity at this time, we ask that:
– younger swimmers (primary school age P1 – P3): Send us pictures of their rainbow/happy drawings in support of all the key workers.
– older swimmers (P4-P7 & post-primary school age): One of the coaches has set a challenge to beat his time in THE 100 SQUAT CHALLENGE!
NO CHEATING AND FULL BODY WEIGHT SQUATS PLEASE!!!
Parents please send in a picture of your child and their squat time/rainbow picture
There will be prizes for the swimmers in each category who beat the coach and do the fastest time in this challenge.
Closing date for entries is 5.00pm on Friday 29 May 2020.
Please note that the photos will be published on Facebook and our website, so by sending these to our email, firstname.lastname@example.org, you are giving your consent to have these published.
